Me — Hey Brahman, are you around?

B — Yes, how are you?

M — You know better

B — You seem to be disturbed.

M — I am disturbed. Why don’t you intervene?

B — …..

M — You know what’s on my mind. Why don’t you intervene in worldly affairs?

B — What do you want me to do?

M — Alleviate pain and suffering, of course.

B — Are you not able to help yourself?

M — Does it look like it?

B — Are you impatient?

M — You can say that.

B — Why?

M — Can’t you see whats happening around?

B — Yes

M — Why are you silent…distant?

B — Aren’t you helping yourself?

M — I may, eventually, or may not. Today’s Q is about you. Why you don’t intervene?

B — Should I?

M — Shouldn’t you?

B — …..

M — Ok, I know your ways. You neither answer easily nor directly.

B — …..

M — Lets change tack. Why do you exist?

B — Do I?

M — Hey, come on. You are here with me…

B — …..

M — Whats your purpose…goal?

B — …..

M — Do you just observe pain & suffering, among other things?

B — ….

M — Please don’t repeat what we have already been through. Some do read the scriptures and try to follow the masters. But if you say all of us have to become enlightened to avoid pain & suffering, that may take ages…or worse, more possibly, may not happen at all.

B — …..

M — Is creation flawed?

B — What do you think?

M — I think…yes.

B — Why?

M — I just told you.

B — Pain & suffering?

M — Yes

B — What do your studies say?

M — Non-attachment, zero desire and other such qualities…very few follow that path. What about the rest? Are we doomed?

B — Do you think so?

M — Well, isn’t that what it looks like? There’s such widespread pain & suffering.

B — …

M — Or do you have better plans…alternatives?

B — …

M — Some pleasant surprise in the offing?

B — …

M — Are you happy with whats happening?

B — Are you?

M — No

B — What are you doing about it?

M — What can I do?

B — You have thought about it.

M — I have. And I have no clue. I can try to change myself. But often I am helpless. I can’t alleviate my own pain & suffering at times, forget the world.

B — You have started.

M — I knew you would say that. You will say I should persevere. And we are back to square one.

B — You are the key

M — That’s not helpful at all.

B — What exactly you want me to do?

M — Jump in. Set things right.

B — Why?

M — Aren’t you responsible?

B — Do you think so?

M — Please don’t be difficult.

B — You want me to intervene?

M — Yes, make pain & suffering vanish. Bring peace & tranquility.

B — …..

M — Neither extreme happiness. Nor extreme sorrow.

B — …

M — Just peace & tranquility.

B — …

M — The simple life is good enough.

B — Then?

M — You know what I am talking about.

B — What next?

M — The good life.

B — Beautiful

M — Yes.

B — Why has it not happened already?

M — Only you can answer that.

B — So can you

M — Let’s not get into that rigmarole.

B — …..

M — I am exasperated. I am neither evolved nor enlightened.

B — …..

M — I am a regular confused soul.

B — Was the past better?

M — How would I know?

B — Is the present not good enough?

M — No

B — Will the future be better?

M — No clue.

B — Did I intervene in the past?

M — Maybe…going by the stories.

B — In the near past, or present?

M — No. I don’t think so.

B — Are you sure?

M — I am not sure. But it doesn’t look like you have.

B — Think

M — How does it matter?

B — Think

M — Could you not intervene? But, aren’t you all powerful?

B — …

M — You didn’t want to? But, aren’t you our saviour?

B — …

M — You didn’t know? But, aren’t you omniscient?

B — …

M — You intervened selectively? But, aren’t you just?

B — …

M — You crave devotion? But, why? Aren’t you beyond that?

B — …

M — Is it a lesson? Do we need lessons? Why?

B — …

M — Is this part of your grand design? If so, isn’t it flawed?

B — …

M — Is it your policy not to intervene? If so, isn’t that unkind?

B — …

M — Does it not matter at all? If so, why have it?

B — …

M — Is this a grand illusion? If so, for what purpose?

B — …

M — Is this your drama? If so, is it not in poor taste?

B — …

M — Is this your game? If so, don’t the rules need tinkering?

B — …

M — Is this your pastime? If so, isn’t it cruel?

B — …

M — Is this your style? If so, shouldn’t you change it?

B — …

M — Are you biding your time? If so, do you think we have as much patience as you?

B — …

M — Do you want to remain mysterious? If so, isn’t that being unhelpful?

B — …

M — Do you want to remain aloof & disinterested? If so, why have us at all?

B — …

M — Do you want to remain silent? If so, should we continue to seek you?

B — …

M — Are you confused? But, you shouldn’t be.

B — …

M — Are you clueless? But, you shouldn’t be.

B — …

M — Are you experimenting? But, you shouldn’t be.

B — …

M — Are you everything? If so, shouldn’t you care?

B — …

M — Are you nothing? If so, why should we care?

B — …

M — Do you exist? If so, show us the way.

B — …

M — Do you not exist? If so, why should we?

B — …

M — If neither of us exist, what is all this?

B — …

M — If you are beyond existence, I have nothing to say.

B — …

M — If you have no qualities or attributes known to me, should I bother any further?

B — …

M — If you are perfect & I am imperfect, shouldn’t you help?

B — …

M — If you are indeed helping and we haven’t understood, where is the fault?

B — …

M — If you want to continue like this, don’t we have any choice?

B — …

M — If its all your will & way, are we collateral damage?

B — …

M — Do we have free will at all?

B — …

M — Are you judge, jury, and executioner? Do we have any say?

B — …

M — If you made the laws, what are they?

B — …

M — If the laws are not being upheld, who is at fault?

B — …

M — We are troubled, why?

B — …

M — We are in pain, why?

B — …

M — We suffer, why?

B — …

M — I am exhausted.

B — …

M — I can’t go on like this.

B — …

M — Should we embrace death to understand you…and everything else? We are ready.

B — …

M — Can you enlighten us in this very life? We are ready.

B — …

M — Is the path to enlightenment paved with pains and sufferings? Don’t you see that makes us hesitate?

B — …

M — If you want us to understand in indirect and difficult ways, why?

B — …

M — If you are not simple, what are you?

B — …

M — If you are not easy to understand, what are you?

B — …

M — If you are not benevolent, what are you?

B — …

M — I am not the first to question you. I won’t be the last.

B — …

M — Better men than me may have given up before.

B — …

M — But you are resolute, determined, unchanged.

B — …

M — You remain there. We remain here. Has anything changed?

B — …

M — Some faith & hope linger. Are you exploiting that?

B — …

M — Will we discard, ignore and forget you soon?

B — …

M — Will you become unnecessary…redundant?

B — …

M — Are you laughing secretly? Did you expect this?

B — …

M — Need I say its not funny?

B — …

M — Do you ask why I should think and bother? I can’t help it

B — …

M — Do you say you are beyond my understanding? I agree. But how does it help?

B — …

M — Do you say there have been many other better & more ingenious arguments against you? If I am stupid & foolish, shouldn’t you step in?

B — …

M — Do you say I should take a leap of faith? What leap? What faith? Death? Shouldn’t you make it clear?

B — …

M — I am weary. I can’t think anymore. I don’t want to.

B — …

M — Still silent?

B — What could I say?

M — Anything.

B — You were in the flow.

M — Anything else?

B — Nothing much.

M — I know

B — …

M — I know

B — …

M — What next?

B — What do you think?

M — Nothing changes.

B — …

M — You don’t change. I don’t change.

B — …

M — But we keep talking.

B — …

M — Rather, I talk and you listen.

B — …

M — I don’t even know if you listen.

B — …

M — But let’s not go back.

B — …

M — What next?

B — …

M — Well, just leave it to me.

B — …

M — Let me figure it out.
